A Focus on Patient Comfort

At Oxnard Dentistry, providing exceptional dental care to all of our patients includes maintaining a focus on patient comfort. From the warm, familiar atmosphere of our office to the high level of personalization in our treatment options, we want to make sure that every patient enjoys their visit with us! Today, we look at two important ways in which we help make your visit more comfortable and time-efficient—digital imaging technology and customized dental sedation.

Digital Imaging and Diagnostics
Digital imaging serves a wide variety of purposes in your dental care, and one of the most important purposes is carefully examining and diagnosing your oral health. While X-rays have long been a part of diagnostic dental care, they can often take a long time to develop. With digital X-rays, we can capture more detailed and precise digital X-ray images almost instantaneously. Because the images are digital, they don’t need to be processed like traditional photography-based X-rays. The digital images are automatically projected onto a chairside digital monitor where you and your dentist can view them instantly.

Customized Dental Sedation
Dental sedation is often recommended when patients experience dental anxiety or fear. The sedative allows them to relax and remain calm enough to sit comfortably in the dentist’s chair. However, sedation is also beneficial when patients must undergo extensive restoration, or when they simply want a more comfortable and relaxing experience. In many cases, sedation helps your dentist complete more of your treatment in less time, reducing how much time you have to sit in the dentist’s chair.
